PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) – A high-ranking parliamentary delegation led by National Assembly President Heng Samrin will visit Vietnam from July 20 to 25, Vietnam News reported Tuesday.
The report said the official friendship visit was at the invitation of Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Sinh Hung.
The announcement in Hanoi came a day after Heng Samrin and Senate Second Vice President Tep Ngon met Tran Van Hang, chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s External Relations Committee.
Hang is visiting Cambodia from July 14 to 19. During the meeting Monday, he was quoted as saying that “Vietnam always attaches importance and gives top priority to the consolidation and development of the sound neighbourly and traditional friendship and comprehensive co-operation between Vietnam and Cambodia.”
