PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald)—The Senate yesterday morning unanimously approved two laws on the 2016 budget law and telecom law while the senators from the opposition party, Sam Rainsy Party, boycotted the seats at the plenary session.
Forty-six senators from the ruling party, Cambodian People’ Party, approved the two laws, smooth ways for government to manage budgets for 2016 operations.
The 2016 budget law will allow government to use the money for increasing pay for government’s civil servants, armed forces especially the national defense and security sector.
The members of the senate also passed the telecom law that will rights to Ministry of Post and Telecommunication to manage and control telecom operations for the sake of country’s security.
The two laws were passed by 66 members of the parliament at a plenary session on November 30th.
