PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - The government issued a storm warning for northern and coastal provinces Monday as Tropical Storm Vicente headed towards northern Vietnam.
Chan Yutha, spokesman at the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, said the storm was moving at about 20 kilometres an hour with strong winds.
Water Resources Minister Lim Kean Hor issued storm warnings for Preah Vihear, Steung Treng, Rattanakiri and Mondolkiri provinces as well as Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot and Kep.
With high waters expected along the Mekong River, the ministry also appealed to authorities, residents and coastal fishermen to take care.
