PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Prime Minister Hun Sen named Democrats Association director Mam Sonado Wednesday as ringleader of a secessionist group in Kratie that pushed residents to occupy land illegally.

Hun Sen said four of the secessionists were still at large after armed forces cracked down on the occupation in Kampong Domrei commune in Kratie’s Chhloung district.

Speaking at a meeting with youth volunteers in Koh Pich Center, the prime minister said Mam Sonando, currently abroad with Soun Sereyrotha, wanted to overthrow the government.

"The government cannot accept," he said. "We will convict this ring leader in absentia."
