BANTEAY MEANCHEY (Cambodia Herald) – Cambodia and Thailand are set to launch international bus services linking Phnom Penh and Siem Reap to Bangkok on Thursday.
"It's the second historic event after the visa exemption agreement between the two countries last year," Provincial Governor Ung Eun said Monday.
He said hundreds of people were expected to attend the inauguration ceremony on Thursday.
The service is being launched by the transport ministries of the two countries in collaboration with Banteay Meanchey province and Sakaeo province in Thailand as well as the Asian Development Bank.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport says 40 Bangkok-bound buses from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap will be allowed the cross the border at Poipet each day.
