PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - The Khmer Rouge tribunal announced Thursday that Sweden had pledged SEK 28 million ($4 million) to the international component of the court for 2012 and 2013.
In a statement, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia said the pledge "comes at a crucial time as the international component of the ECCC is facing a significant funding shortfall.
"This contribution allows the court to continue with the implementation of its mandate in seeking justice for the Cambodian people without any immediate interruption.
The statement noted that the contribution was the second from Sweden since the inception of the ECCC.
