BANTEAY MEANCHEY (The Cambodia Herald) – Striking workers at Tropicana Casino in Poipet resumed work Thursday after a five-day strike, a union leader said.
The return to work came a day after a ruling by Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court which ordered the workers back to work within 48 hours or face dismissal.
Sat Set, head of the local branch of the Free Trade Union of Workers, said the ruling did not apply to himself or fellow union leader Lay Bulen.
About 200 workers began their strike on Sunday with a list of 21 demands. All of the demands have been addressed except for the reinstatement of the two union leaders, Sat Set said.
